Leading hypermarket group Safari has launched its Onam promotion, titled 'Onachantha'. The exclusive promotion is available at all Safari outlets across Qatar. Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) president P N Baburajan, Safari Group chairman Aboobackar Madappat, Safari Group managing director Shaheen Backer and other management representatives inaugurated the promotion at a colourful celebration held at Safari Mall, Abu Hamour, on August 29. Onam is an annual harvest festival celebrated in the southern Indian state of Kerala. In a press statement, Safari said the promotion area is designed in such a way that it will bring back memories for customers and enable them to experience the old 'Onachantha' (Onam market). As part of this auspicious promotion, customers can purchase a wide range of products - including vegetables, food varieties and all other products related to Onam celebrations at a discounted rate. A massive collection of flowers is also showcased in the promotion. The flowers are preserved without losing their fragrance. "This promotion aims to provide all types of products for celebrating Onam festival at a very good discounted price," the statement notes. Banana leaves, grated coconut, jaggery banana chips, etc, have been arranged at discounted rates. In the bakery and hot food section, 'Onasadhya' - which includes 25 side dishes - is available for QR34. Also those who purchase three 'Onasadhya' will receive one as a compliment. "This special product has earned a lot of appreciation in previous years also. As this is an exclusive offer from Safari, a number of customers have already done their booking," the statement points out. 'Onasadhya' will be available only through advance booking. A wide variety products are on offer, including claypots, all types of traditional Kerala utensils, ladles, traditional lamps, Bonera frying pan, coconut grater, pressure cooker, etc, are showcased in this promotion. Also, traditional Onam dress items such as silk sarees, kasavu mundu, shirts, kurtas, etc, are available in the garments section. All these items are arranged in such a way that the customers can enjoy a nostalgic shopping experience. All other promotional items are also showcased under a single umbrella.
